General Notices

Evenley Parish Council have re-instated the grit bin on Broad Lane near Lawyers close.  It was removed by NCC as they felt the old one was no longer servicable and if it was to be replaced the Parish Council would have to fund the installation and replenishment of all salt used.  RRT (Rapid Relief Team) , represented by a local parishioner Brent Douglass, have very kindly funded the replacement unit and EPC will continue to replenish the salt used as necessary.  This is another example of the EPC working closely with our community, resolving issues that our parishioners care about and managing the precept finances to ensure that funds are available to support these ongoing activities.

EVENLEY ROAD MARKINGS – Update December 2016

Following on from the article in the winter newsletter  regarding the ‘keep clear’ road markings on the corner of the Green, leading into Church Lane, Evenley Parish Council would like residents to know that:

The road markings were removed because it was discovered that they were installed without the appropriate permission from the Highways Authority and they were not compliant with highway regulations.

The proposed installation of yellow lines is in accordance with a suggestion received from a resident prior to the meeting the parish council held with Northamptonshire Highways.

We will be holding  a consultation in the New Year where residents will be able to express views on appropriate markings to prevent obstructions to traffic and to keep pedestrians safe. This will be an agenda item for discussion at our next meeting on 30th January 2017.
