Speaking at Council Meeting

Can I raise my concerns at a Parish Council meeting?

YES - the Parish Council holds meetings regularly in the Village Hall, for the next meeting click here.  Anyone can attend a Parish Council meeting and there will be a 10 minute section entitled public speaking when attendees are invited to raise their issues directly to the Chair of the Parish Council.

There may have to be a time limit on individuals if there are several attendees who wish to speak in the 10 minute slot.  The Chair is not obliged to respond to any issues raised.   The rest of the meeting is a formal council meeting that is held in public and normally public speaking during that session is not expected.

The Parish Council reserves its right to ask members of the public to leave a meeting if they act in a dispruptive manner and in order to maintain orderly conduct or prevent misbehaviour at a meeting.
